WE STRENGTHEN THE PARENT SUPPORTS SYSTEMS THAT SERVE OUR RESIDENTS
Ensuring parent support services for 100% of county residents. The 100% Community housing action team identifies challenges, researches solutions and supports organizations in improving parent support services. The long-term goal is creating a countywide system of parent support programs with collaboration and coordination with all city government, county government and non-governmental organizations within the county’s borders.
The 100% Community parent supports action team collects and analyzes data then identifies gaps in parent support program services. The 100% Community survey data, including informational interviews with residents of all communities within the county’s borders, reveal which populations and communities lack easy access to parent support program services. The survey also reveals why parent support services may be difficult to access. Difficulties may include a lack of awareness of programs, lack of transport to programs, costs, lack of easy-to-access to services because of times of service.
The 100% Community parent supports action team focuses on identifying which organizations currently need capacity-building in order to meet the need. This proposed department could also support ongoing research in parent support programs and support local efforts to ensure timely parent supports across the county.

Isolated and vulnerable parents and caregiving grandparents find support online day and night.
The 100% Community action team focused on parent support programs will assess parents and parents-to-be, learning to what degree they have access to various forms of home visitation, child care and support. With video conferencing tech found on one’s mobile device, we may be able to grow the parent support network online. We must work with the private sector and foundations to ensure every parent has the tech and wifi to access vital parent supports.
